Gorrie was given 15 days to complete 5,000 acts of kindness! How did we fare?
We were amazing, coming in at a whopping 13,786 or 23.2 per child!
On Monday, October 9th, we held a special assembly to end our 15-day Kindness Challenge. The top three classes were presented with Kindness Sticks for their great efforts and the top grade level was presented with a huge trophy! Plus, Chadd and Kristi from b98.7 came and presented our school with their “Be Nice” award. We also showed a special message from Brian Williams and a slideshow with photos recapping the challenge.
The total acts of kindness was 13,786 or 23.2 per child! BOOM!
1st and 2nd place classes were super close:
Franklin: 1,671, 69.6 per child
Kalmin: 1,641, 68.4 per child
Moon: 950, 45.2 per child
Grade winner is 5th grade with 4,530 or 47 per kid. Knuckle-bombs for all!
Where Do We Go From Here?
The kindness campaign is a year long, hopefully life long, initiative not just a quick contest. We will stop recording kindness acts in journals, but will be continuing many initiatives to keep kindness going strong!
Initiatives for the rest of the year:
Monthly Think Kindness "Ninja Kindness Task" from Brian Williams
Monthly Thankful Friday Cards in the Cafeteria
Monthly Morning Family High Fives/Knuckle-bombs
School Wide Service Project During Teach In
After School Gorrie Cares Service Projects
Morning Show Kindness Speakers
