About PTA

The Gorrie Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) ia an integral component of our school's success. By working closely with the school's administration to develop, support and maintain numerous programs and activities, the Gorrie PTA enhances and enriches the entire Gorrie community.

Gorrie's PTA publishes the school directory, funds the acquisition of art, music, physical education and Safety Patrol equipment, and produces the Fall Carnival and Spring Musical. In addition, Gorrie PTA financially supports the Reading Is Fundamental program, the Birthday Book Club and the educational "mini-grants" awarded to the teaching staff each year. Gorrie PTA also helps beautify the campus by funding and staffing landscape days at the school.  These examples are just a few of the many service projects and financial aids provided by the Gorrie PTA.

The funding of these activities and programs is generated by two annual fund raisers: the Gorrie Walk-a-thon in November and the Gorrie Golf Tournament in January. The success of these activities and programs is created through the hard work of our dedicated, dynamic and hard-working parents.

Please join the PTA and become an active participant in your child's educational experience. General meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of each month.  Please see the Calendar of Events on our home page for specific dates and times.
